Other Eligible 2013 NHL Draft College Prospects

In addition to the USHL list, there are a handful of other B rated players from the Junior A and High School leagues who are still uncommitted.  There are plenty of C rated players too, but no A players.

B Rated Players
G - Evan Cowley - Wichita Falls-NAHL

F - Thomas Vannelli - Minnetonka HS

All eyes and ears are on the players listed above, as they are likely receiving a solid amount of recruiting attention.

NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Rankings - 2013 Draft

The preliminary list of USHL prospects for the 2013 NHL draft has been released, and as is typical, the vast majority of the college eligible prospects have already committed.  However, there are still four players available and should be hot commodities in the near future.

D - Zack Pittman - Lincoln
F - Frederick Tiffels - Muskegon
G - Sean Romeo - Youngstown
G - Hunter Miska - USNTDP

Early Stat Leaders

The players below are eligible, uncommitted, and have impressive early stats.  They are not necessarily the leaders in their respective leagues, but what they've accomplished (from a stats perspective) may be particularly remarkable considering their age, team performance, stature, position, or some other factor.  There's no doubt that a few of these players will have bright collegiate futures.

Hockey Prospect Stat Links

With the exception of the Minnesota State High School League, the stat links on the right side of the page have all been updated.  Many of the best Minnesota and Wisconsin high school hockey players are currently playing in the Upper Midwest High School Elite Hockey League.  It's a short season and not entirely inclusive, but it's still VERY relevant in terms of college hockey prospects.

Fargo Force Roster

The USHL's Fargo Force has released their preseason roster and was nice enough to include college commitments.  In case you don't want to click through, I'll list the uncommitted players below, youngest to oldest.  In lieu of stats and scouting reports, the relative youth of a player who is able to make a USHL roster is often a helpful indicator.

Who's Hot?

My opinion is that Ian McCoshen is the most sought after prospect yet to commit. Do you agree? Tell me in the comments if you know of somebody better.

USHL Rosters

USHL protected lists.  Sorry, I'm not going to break out which ones are not committed... at least not today.

Calling All Scouts

Okay, so I thought I was going to get some scouting help a while back, but that didn't pan out.  So, here I'm left with a blog that gets a fair amount of traffic (mostly due to the links on the right) and very little for content.  I'l love to add my expert opinion, but frankly I don't get out to watch as much youth hockey as I like.  Most of the stuff I've posted in the past is scraped from statistics or official releases.  That's decent stuff too, but I'd love to get some more expert opinions and make the the best free resource on the web for folks interested in college hockey recruiting.

So here's the deal: you see those ads on the right?  Well, I get paid to have those on this site.  It's not a lot, but that's probably because I have to make this site a lot more popular first.  However, for the right individual's help, I'd be willing to split whatever money I make.  So who am I looking for?  I'm looking for somebody who goes to a variety of youth hockey events for fun to pass along their observations. This isn't a call for somebody who watches a relative play on just one team in just one league.  I really would like somebody who does this as a hobby, as it's important they don't consider this a job (because it doesn't pay that much).  Also, it'd be extremely nice if you have a background in hockey enough so that you really know what you're talking about.  If your interested in the job, shoot me an email...

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I thought I'd let you all know which eligible members of Team USA for the Ivan Hlinka Tournament (8/13-8/17) have yet to commit to a college program.  This team is usually a good indicator of high demand prospects.  All of these players were born in 1995.

All New England Team

I don't always do a very great job with the eastern prospects, so even though this is a bit dated, I thought I'd share with the the All New England prep school players who haven't committed yet.

Marc Biega - (Sr/D) - Salisbury
Colin Sullivan - (Sr/D) - Avon Old Farms
Michael Santaguida - (Sr/G) - Avon Old Farms
David Cunningham - (Sr/G) - Belmont Hill

More to Come

Good news everybody! I'm going to be updating this blog again, bigger and better than before. I have some people helping with the technical and editorial duties now, so I'm going to see if I can make this blog worthy of visiting for something other than the link to the recruit list.

I'm not sure of the timetable yet, so check back often for updates.
