Hot 10

Many of these players (not surprisingly) are on the early stat leaders list.

1. Brandon Saad (F/92) - USNTDP U18 (99.9999% probability he's going to the OHL)
2. Luke Juha (D/93) - Burlington-CCHL (defensive scoring machine, if Lessio bails on the NCAA route, so will this kid...IMHO)
3. Rocco Grimaldi (F/93) - USNTDP U17 (the 93's seem more reluctanct to commit than previous birthyears, but this waterbug should be getting attention)
4. Nick Ebert (D/94) - Waterloo-USHL (yes he's very young, but he's also a nice sized defensemen holding his own in the USHL)
5. Matt Esposito (F/92) - Green Mountain-EJHL (sure it's a weaker league, but this kid has 10 points more than his closest teammate!)
6. Michael Voran (F/90) - Sioux Falls-USHL (yes he was passed over for the draft twice, but his success in the USHL is going to make him very popular)

So who did I miss?

Charlie Coyle ... and I have been saying this consistently since September of 2009 to ANYONE & EVERYONE who will listen. Yes, I know hindsight is 20-20 and people are gonna say, you grabbed the one EJHL draft pick. The EJHL produces some of the Top HE talent that winds up in the NHL, so those of you who sleep on this conference dont realize just how good the hockey is with the top teams, there is just a bigger dropoff with the bottom. That said, the NJ Hitmen and or the NH Monarchs could skate with ANY USHL team and beat em as often as not.

For that Matter, I also would add just finished U18 campaign D-man Adam Clendening to the list. Kid looked like a man among boys for USA in the U18 tourney, and I expect as a frosh - assuming Coach Parker lets him go - for him to be the fourth str8 blue liner repping the USA and the terriers in the worlds (Brian Strait in 07-8, Kev Shattenkirk in 08-9, Dave Warsofsky in 09-10, AND now as a frosh Clendening. For those asking, why not NiCastro as he was last player cut last season, it is cuz though only a frosh at BU last yr, he will be past the cutoff date. Hence, BU keeps it streak of four straight WJC teams with Terrier Blue-liners alive, although I doubt they keep the captaincy streak (also at three) alive as I dont see Clendening bringing the locker room leadership, just the on-ice performance that will lead the USA to defend its gold medal in Buffalo
