I don't think Hrbas is going to go to college though. He would be a nice pick-up for any NCAA team but I think it's likely that he will go the major junior route.

I also think Grimaldi is not going to college either.

And Voran just committed to Notre Dame.

Alex Gesek should be moved to your top 5 93's at this point. Please check his numbers in the EJHL... WOW

Gacek is already committed. This blog is for college fans who want to know which prospects are still uncommitted.

Can't believe that Power and Teglia are not committed from Omaha yet......They have to be on this list

What do you think of going Jr. vs. the college route. It seems like more players from Juniors end up making the NHL but considering there are so many junior leagues is there any one that is a sure fire route to the NHL?

Tom,

IMHO, there is problem with the whole "route to the NHL" mentality in general. I'd recommend kids focus on what's good for them this year, next year, and that's it.

If you're such an awesome midget minor that playing Tier II would hurt your development next season, then by all means, play WHL, QMJHL, OHL, or USHL. Of course, this applies to about three or four kids from any given birthyear. Odds are, there's plenty you can still learn in Tier II. Do that, then see what next year holds.

When parents and kids keep their egos in check... everybody wins.
